The Sukeban Deka OVA is a great, short intro to the series, with a very strong Yuri subtext between Saki and Junko – it’s only two episodes and well worth the money. A straight-to-video (OVA) anime that takes us back to the start of the story, retelling the tale of Saki Asamiya as she returns to Takanoha High School from the Reformatory, on a secret mission for the police. Whenever you watch anime, you have to expect the unexpected. The improbable and violent story gets sorted out in the end--more or less, but it hardly seems worth the bother.
The makers tried very hard to make her an anti hero and they only sort of suceeded.
